Application Rates

Spray: up to 65 Mils Wet Film Thickness per Coat

Brush: 15 Mils Wet FIlm Thickness per Coat

Overcoating is not required with Albi Clad TF. However, topcoat can be used for color-coding, aesthetics or additional surface protection against spills. For application sites subjected to chemical fumes or spills, the use of a topcoat is recommended. Must be mixed with a drill mixer until product reaches a viscosity to spray.

Application Equipment

Airless Sprayer is most effective application method.

Use 1.0 gal. per minute electric airless (minimum) to provide an operating pressure of 3,000 p.s.i. (140 kg/cm2).
** Remove rock catcher from siphon tube.**

Titan Spraying Equipment from TechMat Supply Co. is recommended.

Spray Gun:
Contractor Gun (with filter removed) or equivalent 0.021” – 0.025” 4”-10” (depending on section being sprayed)
50’ (15 m) maximum 1/2” I.D.

RX-Apex Airless Gun from TechMat Supply Co is recommended.

Frequent thickness measurements with a wet film gauge are recommended during the application process to ensure uniform thickness.

Final thickness must be measured using an electronic Dry Film Thickness gauge. DeFelsko Positector Gauges from TechMat Supply Co are recommended.

Do not apply Albi Clad TF below 50 degrees F.  Care must be taken to protect the material from direct rainfall.

Please refer to the Manufacturer Fireproofing Application Manual and Field Guide for further details.
